In the Yard

The drive over on Sunday was pretty dire. Antwerp was totally closed for reasons unknown with no diversion signs, requiring a stressful, google-mapped 1 hour detour. Lots of reduced speed roadworks and some crawling through Netherlands and Germany. On the plus side our first 20 mins in France did not include a spot check of our non-existent breathalyser kit, and our new (to us) automatic BMW made the driving very easy.

So here we are, halfway through our yard work - she came out of her winter quarters (heated shed) yesterday (pics) and we have washed and scrubbed and painted her bottom. That's most of the physically hard work done.

We are really enjoying staying with Susan & Rene while the boat is a workshop - this is our third visit to Susan's Ole Schoolhus and we've become firm friends. Last night they invited us to the village celebration of May 1st, complete with bonfire, barbeque and lots of beer (pic).
